Default help!! i got a oil leak on a 95 acoord ex.

alrite heres the story guys. my sister recently gave me her 95 honda accord and i have been driving it for a few days now. i notce that when the car is running it tends to leak oil. so i check the oil pan gasket, screw and to see if it had any holes in the oil pan. nothing so i then took off the oil filter to see if that was the problem and nothing. so i did a oil change anyways and started the car it started to leak oil agian. i cleaned everything down and it seems like the leak is coming from above the oil filter and i cant tell because it so compacted .. has anybody had this problem before? anything will help.. thanks

Honestly the easiest way to track down a leak is to clean off the area and then drive around and see where the new oil is.

How far above the oil filter?

I have a 98 accord and from what I've been told, my oil leak is coming from either a bad rear main seal or a bad seal on the actual housing assembly of the rear main seal.

But that might not be your problem, just throwing out a possibility.

If you've noticed the oil leaking in the vicinity of the oil filter, it can be one of two things.

a) A leak from the an oil cooler adapter (Which would sandwich between the oil filter and the block (If so equipped) or
b) A leak from the oil pressure sensor (switch) located just above the Oil filter. It can be removed and replaced with a drive socket.

I've had this mysterious oil leak on my '92 Accord EX too.
I've determined it'd coming from near the oil filter and just last week I found out that the Oil Pressure Sending unit is located directly above the oil filter on the F22A6 engine too. Only about 1k until my next scheduled oil change, at which point I'm going to replace the sending unit and oil pan gasket which both appear to be leaking...then wait to see what other seals have gone leaky

Thanks for the idea of checking that adapter at the oil filter P_Adams!

i had same problem with my 95 EX coupe i took the oil pressure sensor out and put some Hondabond HT on it and put it back on it was good and stopped leaking but then the oil leak came back after like 3 months. So i bought a new oil pressure sensor put hondabond HT on it and its been good and no more leaking since.

It's not uncommon.
It's an item stocked (even at a minimum level) by dealers.
Who wants to tie up a csutomer's car for a $14.00 Item?

Which location or where about was your leak? Was it in the center toward the front a little?
Thanks.
