So today i took out my tail lights to get some sanding done around the area. i put them back in, everything is cool. i get out of my car at the gas station and notice that the 3rd brake light is still on, which really confused me.
got home, did some basic examining, and when my lights are off and i hit the brake pedal, my cluster lights/ climate control lights go on WITH the brake lights. and with the lights turned on, its basically like im hitting the brakes, without touching the pedal.
im super stupmed here. a little scared too. anyone got any leads? thanks.

That sounds weird. But from experience, the weirdest problems turn out to be electrical issues due to a bad ground or exposed wires crossing. Take the tail lights off again and do further examining if you put everything back together right.

so everything is checkin out alright. im about to look at grounds and such. but when i was driving last night my spedometer kept freaking out. :\

 

make sure your tail light bulbs arent burned out. also if theyre switched around it will make this happen. your brake lights (inside bulbs) have 2 filaments and your outside bulbs (turn signals) have 1. im pretty sure this is your problem

 

actually yes, i JUST took the bulbs out (i dont know why i did this last) and the ones that were in there had only 1 filaments, and they needed 2. of course after i checked like EVERY damn wire in the car. but thanks man!!
