Crx B16a valve cover ground????????????????????????????

My question is why do I need to add a ground strap to the valve cover? The valve cover is isolated by the rubber gasket and grommets on the bolts. So how will this ground anything? If I go to the bolt on the valve cover it makes more sense. someone please enlighten me!

The ground is actually contacting the stud, which does in fact go into the head 
As long as you have a ground in that general area you should be ok.

OK it makes sense if it goes to the bolt holding the cover to the head. I looked at pics of b16's with guys who just add a bolt to valve cover. thanks
