Default 99-00 Exhaust Fitment Compatability HELP!!! EXPERT ADVICE NEEDED!!!

I own a 99 Civic DX Sedan. (blah) I've done a little research for an exhuast set up (header back) because I want to upgrade, but I haven't as of yet because I need my "facts" straightened out. Please correct me if I am wrong. From my understanding I may use 92-00 Civic EX header, but, I need to use a 92-00 catalytic converter (a straight pipe is not on option) and an EX "after-cat" O2 sensor. From the cat back, I may use 96-00 EX catback exhaust. Thanx, to anyone who responds with any helpful information.

im not sure I understand your question,
"92-00 Civic EX header"...............Ok

Here's where I get lost.

"I need to use a 92-00 catalytic converter (a straight pipe is not on option) and an EX "after-cat" O2 sensor"

Why? and where's your stock cat? it'll work just fine.
If it's the cat is 92 it's OBD 1 you can't use without throwing a code, if it's 95-up it'll be OBD2 which you will need to use because your car is OBD2. The OBD2 cat does have a O2 sensor, but not after it, which is what im confused about. And another thing is the piping lengths are different on all model Civics (e.g. Coupe, 4dr, hatchback). So make sure you get the right catback exhaust system, in your case for a 4dr. If not a muffler shop will have to cut and weld pieces to make it fit.

Your going to have to get 92-99 ex manifold, then a cat(with 02 sensor) and some straight pipe after that to a muffler. If you get any kind of exhaust made for your dx, then you will have to hack it up to make it work. Why hack up some expensive **** when you can go custom for cheaper . The reason for all this, the cat is part of the exhaust manifold

Here's what another H-T member (salbaje) told me in the Tech section: "you can use the 92-00 header but not cat. coz the obd1 92-95 civics have no hole for 2nd o2 so you have to use the 96-00 civic catalytic with 2nd 02 sensor in there" Now I have two conflicting stories. Which is right? Thanx for the responses.
