Gas Pedal Stuck on start up.
Hi everybody, I have been having this problem for a while and I never had chance to mention the problem on here but lately it seems to be getting worse. When I first start my car the gas pedal seems to stick on top. I have to either push it hard or tap on it to be able to relaese the pedal. It does this when I start the car at the first touch, It doesnt do it after then. Please let me know what you think might be the problem and what would be least expensive fix to it. The vehicle is 2000 accord 2.4 vtec. Thanks a lot.

I don't believe the 6th Gen Accord uses an electronic throttle, so we're (read that as YOU) are going to have to check the Throttlebody, cable, pedal hanger operation.
Go to the throttlebody b4 starting it in the morning and try to manually work the throttle by hand. If you feel a bind as you work the shaft, it's possible it could be something as simple as cleaning the Throttle bore and Butterfly Valve. If you feel no bind check the cable operation and get under the dash and check for anything which might be interfering with the pedals operation.

Had to do it on our 2000 over the summer. I followed the TSB which required removing the TB, so a new gasket was involved - but it's worth a try doing it without all the disassembly, probably works the same. I used whatever TB cleaner they sold at the parts store - worked fine.
Same generation of car - so yes.
