Race header hitting sway bar
Just installed a strup race header from clubrsx and it keeps hitting the sway bar more than just some of the time. Its really getting annoying to the point i wish i never even installed the RH. I also installed ESMM's along with it thinking it would help keep it from rattling against the sway. Anyone have this problem and/or know how to fix it? I saw some people saying its not too bad to just take off the sway bar but im kinda skeptical about that. Thanks guys
You can temporarily try using heat wrap, or some rubber insulation between the header and sway, and you can run w/o a front sway, just becareful because your would tend to oversteer more.
so without a sway bar, the steering feels looser? What about just driving straight or on highway? Will the steering be too loose? Not trying to be difficult, I just dont want to go through all the trouble taking it off and then come to find out that i should have just left it on.
Well I've seen guys ake 'em off at autox events to get more rotation but as far as street driving i can't say. It's only like 6 bolts why not give it a shot?

I'de say remove it and see how it feels, shouldn't take you more than 30 minutes to do this. And if you're not comfortable with it like that, look for another sway bar that will clear you RH.
Just remove the front bar. You won't even notice a difference.

Have you removed your front bar? I take it you haven't because you really cannot feel a difference. I had mine off for 3-4 months, put my 27.5mm Tanabe back on and barely felt a difference.

are you really asking me if i have removed my front bar? take a look at my avatar and tell me what you think. without the front bar, turn in will feel sluggish; with a thick bar, turn in is immediate. big difference don't you think?
check out inlinefour.com, you can get a front sway that has a wider gap for your header clearance. I believe it is the same sway as on the Type-R. It is under $100. I had the same problem as you though and it fixed it nicely. Also, if you haven't yet... try either the energy suspension motor mount inserts, or the Ingalls torque dampener. I got both, and they are both worth the money.
ESMM's = best 30 bucks I have ever spent

I tried no front swaybar once. Yeah, the car rotated better once it was settled in a turn, but it took a while to get the front end pointed because of the amount of roll.
Also, since the RSX doesn't have much camber, the extra roll will stress the outside of the tires way more. So in theory, with barely any negative camber in the front, handling could actually become poorer with no front bar.
Point being, I'd get a front sway that is known to work with the race header.
Oh, race headers are sometimes a major PITA if you haven't figured that out.

Looking at your avatar means nothing to me. Sorry, I don't make assumptions based on avatars. lol
I've tracked (same track even) with an aftermarket front bar and without one at all and the car felt and behaved the same. Even the skid pad reading was the same. Thus, I really doubt the OP will notice any real difference.
It may be more noticeable with stock or softer shocks though.

Thanks whiteonrice, I took your advice and took off the sway bar totally and really havent noticed a difference. I never take my car to the track so the little things really dont matter to me as far as handling is concerned. I have a half mile cirlce up from my house thats almost like a mini track and i pushed it going around that and the handling was great. Maybe when i have the time and money in say 6 months or so ill go get one that clears the header.
oh and it only took about 15 min
Just loosened the header bolts a little and unbolted the exhaust after the header and was able to slip the sway bar down to the back end of the header.

here is your solution http://www.inlinefour.com/tod25fronswa.html
whatever you do, DO NOT take out the front sway bar, thats [freak]ing ridic, the car will handle SO poorly.

Did you not see my previous post i just added. I took it off and the car handles GREAT. Cant even notice a difference. You obviously haven't done this before or you wouldnt have said that it handles so poorly.

shouldnt it have some change in something i mean why would TODA charg 400+ for a sway bar. im not saying it increases or reduces handling but i mean its there for something right ??

Seriously, STFU with assumptions. I and the OP have proven this incorrect. I even measured my cornering capabilities with and without an aftermarket bar on the same track.

i dont remember why i put $400, when it is $200+ but i know i was looking at theyr sway bars.
to the OP how has your car being handling with out one, have you or have you not noticed a difference yet ??
