Default Valve cover bolt broke off........ ;-0

So I have a 94 accord project car Im workin on as we speak. I realized one of the valve cover bolts were broken off. I took the valve cover off and bought new bolts but I cant seem to extract the broken off part of the bolt out of the bolt hole...
Every drill bit seems to break that I use to drill into the broken bolt... Any ideas??? thanks

Cut a slot in the top of the remaining stud using a hand grinder and a hobbiests cut-off wheel. I've got hanging around a dremel Moto-Tool and bit set which found it's way into my tool box from prior tinkering with RPV's. You can use a screwdriver and a pair of Vice Grips if you're lucky.
Applying some heat (and I mean "some (not a lot)) may help the extraction process.

Hopefully this stud isn't stripped in the bore and broke off.

Its not as easy as just cuttin a slot in the top of the remaining stud..... That is solid metal. I broke three bits trying to drill a hole in it to fit the extractor in. I need some sort of strong strong drill bit that is made in 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick.

I cant use vice grips because there is nothing to grab. It broke off flush where the hole starts.

Its not stripped I know that but it is in there pretty good. The dumb *** who tightened it did it way more then needed...

Then the only recourse is grinding the stud flat, center punching the stud and use a carbide tips drill bit using a slow rotational drill and some cutting oil.
(and a "Good" EZ-Out Bit.

I love the term "high speed bit" it's so mis-leading.

Sears sells two types of extractors that fit directly into a reversible drill, so far, knock on wood, I have been able to get every broken stud out that was not an exhaust stud.

One set is just a hard left hand drill bit, the other is a left hand drill bit with the extractor built on to the drill bit. They come in pocket sized black cases with four bits each I think.
