Default brake booster check valve question

okay... im trying to figure something out here. right now i have my vacuum line for my wastegate inline with my brake booster line. i have it tapped before the check valve. im set at 10 lbs on my boost controller and my guage confirms. well, about a week ago before i had it ran this way, i actually had the check valve removed from the brake booster line and had a T fitting where the check valve was. when i had it ran this way, my car seemed to pull hella fast. now since i put the check valve back, it doesnt seem to pull as hard for some reason. but whats bothering me is that why would the check valve cause that? even if the check valve wasnt there wouldnt boost be present in the whole line? my guage seemed to still read 10lbs no matter which way. is this a good signal for boost for the wastegate?

The question is where are you reading the boost level from? I bet if you're gauge was connected to some point where the break vacuum line then the reading would be different.

The theory will still remain that by removing the check valve you've altered the pressure and hence the time it takes for your wastegate to open. To confrim this, connect your boost pressure gauge to the same source you connect your wastegate.

well i actually had it ran like that before. i actually had a vacuum box tapped where the check valve was and had my guage and wastegate from the same source. and your right my wastegate opened later that way. now it feel like it opens much earlier. so basically if my wastegate is opening later, wouldnt i actually be spiking?
