Default Options for 250 whp gsr

I have been thinking about going big turbo for a while, but recently rode in a 185 whp car and decided that going for anything over 250 or 300 would be a waste for me. This is my daily, and I seriously think that 250 would be ideal. I want super quick spool, and dependability. I have read a bit about the Greddy 18g kit, but am wondering if i could piece a kit together for cheaper. I'm stock right now, but would get some minor work done for the build (cams, cam gears, pistions, maybe a hone) I just want a nice quick ride that can catch some people off guard. I just need to know what turbo to start with...I know that once I make that decision that I can figure everything out from there. So please chime in with suggestions. What turbo should i plan my build around? 250 whp, quick spool, but still give me a nice dyno curve...thanks in advance.

just build the motor on 84mm bore and 89mm stroke. keep it N/A and then just buy a 50 shot and boom 250whp safely

You could get a Garrett 60trim T3 for around $200 used, $550 new. It will be some form of a stg1/.63 ar turbine, or a stg3/.63 ar with a .42 ar comp housing. Either way, both will give you lots of boost by 3k rpm, yet still make over 300whp if you want. My friend acheived 250whp with a B16A on Uberdata with the stg1 version at only 9psi (open downpipe).

Combine that with a log manifold, a decent 2.5" exhaust, ebay fmic, maybe with a 2.5bar MAP, and you're set.

you say that you want 250whp now, but eventually you will get used to it and want more power. It just always seems to work out that way . I would build your setup around still having room to achieve 300whp if you decide to.

you could get a t28 off of a sr20 or a small t3t4 like a 40,46,or 50 trim

thanks for the responses guys. as far as keeping it n/a is concerned...i'm just not interested. i love the sound and feel of turbo. as far as wanting more power... i think that 250 is plenty of power for me to handle responsibly. this is my first honda and i just want to get my feet wet, nothing to outrageous. i like the idea of the garrett 60trim, that sounds like all i'd need. on a different note, which hondata would be the best for my application? i'm thinking that s200 would suffice. thanks again guys.

the gt28rs or the gt2871r would be a great turbo for what you are looking for. They can be kinda pricy but you can find them used for a good deal or check the sponsors, many times people will get the 28 to have 250-300 and as talked about above, will decide to go bigger and sale them cheap. Good luck.

if you want ballbearing get a gt28r, if you don't care about that i would get a straight t3 60 trim with the biggest stage wheel you could get in it and a .63 hotside

if you got the t3 like that it would be good for 300 if it was really pushed but also with the .63 hotside and the biggest wheel you can get it won't of breath and run outyou could still rev to 8k-8.5k without power falling off

Took the words right out of my mouth, hell you don't even need NOS for 250whp but it is a cheaper/easier way...
