Default NRG seats?

anyone own a pair? confortable? they seem not bad for the price especially with the carbon fiber back. just looking for a cheap single fixed back seat.

personally i would not trust something that has not been evaluated and shown to be good in an accident. hope that helps your decision.

i have heard bad reviews on their "typr-r style" seats, but NRG is a respectful company and these seats look to be good quality. thats why im looking for opinions

I don't think they're that bad. If you have ever read Import Tuner Magazine and you look back in the past issues (I think it was an issue from November last year) there was a Subaru WRX pushing like 400+ HP and was on the front cover and appeared in F&F Tokyo Drift and guess what?!! It was sporting these exactly NRG seats!! Think about it!!

NRG is a great brand. My friend had those seats in his 96 sedan. I thought they were decently comfortable.

lol, wut? Nothing you've said there proves that their seats are safe.

I'm not all about big name brand parts. But when it comes to safety, I would only go with OEM of FIA approved seats.

I stopped reading after this. Every car in that movie is NOT a daily driven car, so I wouldn't bite off of anyone's style.

Don't get fixed back seats in a daily driver. It seems like a good idea for about 48 hours and then you wonder how you could have been so shortsighted.

I wouldn't necessarily say this. I ran a buddyclub in my car for over a year and it was much better than stock. The support was perfect (for me), and you can change the angle of the seat with the seat brackets if you desire to change your position. Hell, even one of my friends was thinking your way when he bought $1800 worth of Bride reclinables, but after taking it to a track he wished he went with buckets from the get-go.

I don't know about you, but I have yet to sit in an aftermarket reclinable seat that's anymore comfortable than stock...

It's a bucket seat for one and two get a new hobby if sitting in a bucket seat bothers you.

My only car has a Recaro Racer SPG. It's not uncomfortable whatsoever but then again the seat cost $1k and has tons of RnD behind the design. The NRG seat is flat and looks extremely uncomfortable.

I have been in my NRG seats for over 5 hrs straight and was fine. They are comfortable compared to a few other non reclinables i have been in. It all depends on the angle of the back and how you like it. I have mine in my DD and it doesnt bother me at all.
