EK Civic Traction/Front Cross Member Re-enforcement Braces? (Honda Tuning ~2003??)
Oi up!
I have a vague memory of seeing a test feature on a set of L shaped Traction/Cross-Member Re-enforcement braces on a Red EK Civic in Honda Tuning magazine in 2003.
There was two, each an L Shape, and one went on each side of the front Cross Member at the very front of the car, I think slightly in front of the wheels?
Each "side" (of the "L") is only about 8-10inches long. They do not cross the center of the car.
Anyone else remember this? Or know what they are called?? I can't find them on google.
I remember reading that they help somewhat with traction, but moreso with keeping the front of the car stable/controlled on bad roads and through corners. The writer was very impressed with them given they seemed so simple, & were completely out of sight.

Korbach Frame Locks, the latest useless fad of the day in 2004. They even sent you tools for installation and fancy foam-lined packaging so that you didn't feel too ripped off when you realized that they served no real purpose.
Good luck getting them to do anything, let alone improve traction and stability or reinforce anything important. There is a reason that no other company has sold these before or since, and also a reason these aren't made anymore. Guess that huge marketing blitz drained their cash reserves.

What Wai posted in this old thread made a lot of sense but until someone can build one of these and get objective numbers out of the device, these frame locks will always be labeled snake oil.
I've always wondered if anyone just welded up that area instead of paying $200 for a bracket and noticed any difference.
