Well my buddy pulled into work this evening with a wheel in the back of his truck. The first thing I noticed was the center cap which said "Schumacher." I have seen that these wheels are pretty rare but I am just wondering if there are any specific details on the wheels that will tell me if they are legit or not. Since there are companys that made knock offs I would rather not buy them if there are. The guy has no idea if they are or not, to him its just a set of random wheels. The back of the wheels says they are 18x7.5 +45. They're 4 lug so I am guess they are probably 4x100 & 4x114.
Here is a picture.

Actually they don't. They might look similar, but they're not the same. I have both styles of center cap, and they don't even look similar when compared side-by-side.

</TD></TR></TABLE> yep. i agree. real deal schus only came in 16" and 15" (import only)models
also, the other big giveaway besides looking for the rims diameter is to look at the valve stem location..(real schu pictured below)

here is a real Schumacher rim... and then look at yours.. the real schu has the open ended notch where the valve stem goes and that 18" "schu" pictured up above has the valve stem just peaking through the actual lip of the wheel right next to the (fake)wheel bolts.

I noticed that also when I was comparing pictures. But All I could compare them to was the 16s so I wasn't sure if they changed the location or not. Thanks guys!
Nakayama is the company who bought the rights and name of the schumacher wheel from SSR and you can order the caps through them and they fit the original ssr schumacher wheel
i recently had 3 sets of SSR Schumacher at one time and one of the sets had a slightly different sized center cap opening compared to the other 2 sets.
i tried both the replica caps and the real deal SSR caps. the nakayama caps would not fit any of the SSR rims. they either were too big or too small.
so this might explain why sometimes the nakayama caps will work and sometimes they won't.
I've got a set of Euroline's and have handled Vienna's many times before. Yes, there are certain models in both lines (those are lines by the way, not models) that are exceedingly similar... but neither are relevant to the post I was making. I was referring to SSR not making Schumacher's as a knock-off.

I'm not focusing on Rota's... they didn't mimic the "Schumacher" label on the center caps (which is such a farce, since Tenzo didn't even name the wheel "Schumacher"). That, and Tenzo's wheels usually weight about 12 elephants.
