Default AC question

I bought my 1998 honda civic about 3months ago and everything's been working great. Just this past week I haven't been using my ac since the weather has been a lot cooler, but now it's freaking hot again. I go to turn on my A/C today and the cold air wasn't blowing any cold air it was more warm than anything. What could be the possibly be the issue with the a/c would it just need a recharge? Any suggestions would be awesome thanks.

With the A/C button pushed, does both the condenser fan run and the compressor clutch engage?

^^ check what RonJ@HT said as your a/c system usually doesn't just crap out on you without running it for only a week. I've gone almost a whole winter without turning on my a/c and when I did it worked great the first time.

You may have a refrigerant leak. If you have a manifold gauge set, you can verify that the R134a refrigerant pressure is low in the system and safely recharge it. You may want to refill with refrigerant containing a special dye that allows you to detect the location of the leak with a UV light.

Lots of possibilities, but one to consider is the solder joints in the heater control unit circuit board are failing. See http://honda.lioness.googlepag...oning . This has come up with others a few times here at honda-tech.com .
