Short squeal when I start the car.....
2001-Base-Auto-98k
Ok so a few months ago I did a full tune-up. t-belt & tensioner , water pump , cap-rotor-plugs , all few different seals etc....
Just recently when I start the car in the morning , right as the engine turns over there is a fairly loud short squeal. If I travel somewhere , turn the car off then a few minutes later start it again it wont do it , but after several hours or overnight it happens again.
There are no other problems to speak of at this time during regular operation , only that short squeal on cold starts.
Any ideas with this limited info guys ?

sounds like a loose belt. It gets hot during driving and tightens a little, but during cold starts the belt is a little loose and cold therefore it squeals on startup
When you removed the PS and AC belts to do the timing belt they probably weren't tensioned properly when they were put back on. Just tighten the belts and it should go away. I get the squeal every once in a blue moon on cold starts but it's rare and it doesnt really bother me lol
one of ur belts isn't tight enough. Easiest way to do this....pull the power steering belt off one night when u get home, and then start it in the morning.
If it still makes that noise, its ur alternator belt, if it doesn't...it was ur PS belt, then just put it back on
