i bought a rebuilt tranny back in january and it has just been sitting in storage. is there anything i need to do to maintain it? not sure if it is ok to just let it sit.

not really.

Anytime a trans has sat for awhile, after install I just run it on the lift in each gear for awhile to get the fluid through all the passages and free up any stubborn parts.

If it was good when you pulled it, should still be good now
