Bought new car, Doorspeakers mounted using non hardening modeling clay?? WTF
I recently purchased a used vehicle from a private party.... It's got a decent radio and overall the vehicle is not in bad shape, door speaker quit working and I removed the door panel to see if there was any debris in there and found the speaker mounted to non hardening modeling clay.... WTF?? it's done rather cleanly as well... Do people do this? what's its purpose?

Probably used as a sealer/gasket, it is very important that the speaker has an airtight seal when mounted.
