Default Ball Bearing? Basic Transmission Questions.

I just bought an ex hyrdo transmission from a friend of mines, and everything looks good. Ive never worked with a hydraulic transmission due to owning purely ef's, but Im not sure what to look for in order to see what condition the transmission is in.

Well to start off, I spun the spine (where the throwout bearing sits, but I did not receive one with the transmission) and as I am doing this, I can hear a lil popping noise inside of the transmission case. It kind of sounds like a little metal ball or a bearing of some sort that seems to be bouncing around in there.
Is this something normal in a hydro tranny?? Or am I just tripping?
I ask this, because I cannot afford any setbacks at this moment, and when I put together the engine and tranny for the swap, I want to get it done with as little issues as possible.

What are signs to see if a transmission is good or not? I am totally in the unknown when it comes to hydraulic. any help is appreciated. Thanks

sounds like bad input shaft bearing.

Can you wiggle your shaft?

The shaft for the throwout bearing? There is no bearing on there at this moment. I plan on getting one with a clutch kit. Can that be the cause of the noise?

#9, Input Shaft Bearing.

I always replace these anytime I install a used trans, along with any other worn parts
