The K20a3 is not really the desired motor of the k series, but from what I read/heard they are great for boost. My motor is stock I'll be puttin my RH on sometime here soon. You're going to get alot of mixed feelings here as this has been discussed before and most of the the RSX drivers hate on us EP owners, but to each his own.

IMO: Celica

No celica.

I've got a buddy with a ep3 hatch that ran a 13.8 in the 1/4 mile.. but he did an engine swap with the k20z1. He has the lip kits, rims and suspension and it looks amazing and drives like a beast. Not a huge fan of the celica sorry~ And the lude, what a heavy beast. If anything stick with a DC2, DC5 or EP

The only thing I can say I don't love is the engine, but I didn't want something extremeley fast when I got the ep, though a simple swap or turbo kit makes your EP one of a kind. Everything else is money

Steering rack creak.
Most exhaust hits my Progress rear sway bar.
Tuning cost waaay too much.

That's about it.

In order from most hated:
1. Lack of an arm rest
2. No optional arm rest
3. Alot of wheel hop
4. Constantly hitting the rev limiter when trying to merge off and off ramp
5. The radio located at the top of the dash, might as well be on the headliner
6. The moonroof controls being located within passenger reach

In order from most liked:
1. THE GAS MILEAGE!
2. The seats
3. The steering wheel
4. The shifter
5. The guages
6. The nimble drive

The GT-S Celica's are fun, but only in 6spd form. They can be pretty fast too. My buddy had one with just an AEM CAI on it, and he ran a 13.8 on the 1/4 at MIR. Pretty amazing.

The Preludes are fun too, but very heavy cars. If I were you, Id look into an RSX Type S. You get alot with those, and the pricing is pretty good for a used one.

Good luck to ya!

1/2. An arm rest wouldn't really flow with the interior or work with the seats' bolsters.
3. Can be fixed with ESMM - $25.
4. Why are you hitting the rev limiter on off ramps?
5. Would you rather it be below the shifter? lol
6. This was never an issue for me.

Meh, it's the same straight line as the em1 Si, maybe faster. Still faster than most stock 4 cylinders and a lot of v6's. It's a great daily driver.

Only 2 things I really hate. Everything else I'm very happy with.

1) Steering wheel rack.

2) Slow / Gearings too long (gearing pisses me off the most. Especially coming from a B-series CTR tranny.)

That just said it all Well....
The Ep3 IS faster stock I believe. I raced an all stock em1 si that had 30k less than me multiple runs and came out a car or two ahead. Driver? Maybe, But it cant be much. They have way more room than most other hatchbacks, well all the decent ones really. Oh and if your on a budget income, I wouldnt reccommend it if you dont have a garage and tools. Shops in my area charge a lot more for some reason. Labor for a tranny install runs $400 from all shops in my area. But hey, You can do what I do and deal with the creak(If you get it) with some silicone spray, and later on im going to be putting a k20a2 in it if i dont get an s2k

I like mine for being a daily driver but the RPM's look so high because I am use to my GSR trans with an LS attached...its SLOW compared to my nearly race ready EG, but I like it anyways.

There is a armrest for it on ebay sometimes clubrsx used to sell it too....But anyways only issue i have with it is everything costs so much for the K series and honda in general u could buy my EP3 its FS and has ALOT of cool stuff

The radio location really cant be changed, I understand that, it was just a little high.

As for the limiter issue, in times when I really needed the get up n go to get to my exit, I would drop n go, and it always hit limiter. I never had this issue in any of my cars ive had, but the EP3.

As for the Sunroof switch, Wifey would always close the damn thing. Just annoying.

But hey, everyone is entitled to their own preference.

Overall, I loved the car while I had it. Now I drive a krapy 96 Accord. No more limiter issues, I just cant pass anyone at all, LOL! I just cut them off and hope they dont hit me, & the sunroof ... well ... I dont have one, but I got the arm rest

good daily driver and it's predictable on the track. i enjoy the car. i like the interior and usually get lots of positive comments about it from people riding in it their first time. k24 swaps are cheap and make the ep a great sleeper because it's known not to be quick compared to other compact cars around it's price range (new). btw...it's very reliable. people have gone 160k-200k miles with no major issues.

sunroof stopping half-way is annoying. rather have window sensor feature over a half-way stopping sunroof. windows are more common for people to stick fingers out of.

brakes are just okay.

engine isn't the greatest. it's great for boost but 1st and 2nd are useless because of gearing...but that's with most hondas. k24 swap is a cheap option.

steering rack creak when lowering sucks but can be prevented with inverted tie rod ends or mugen sport suspension.

whoever complains about wheel hop has to be talking about all fwd cars. i have esmm inserts and it eliminated wheel hop.

radio position isn't too high. it's just perfect for me. i'm 5'9 and i don't drive with a gangsta lean. i can reach the buttons fine without driving like a midget hugging the steering wheel or leaning forward. it would be nice if the stock radio could play mp3's or have an Aux jack.

my biggest complaint is working on it. everything is so cramped in the engine bay. taking the tb off is a pain and so is taking the header off. the right tools make it easier, but only so much.

Hahaha...can be fixed with Mugen Sport Suspension? That is funny...

What I don't like about is, economy v-tec on the k20a3 motor which is for N/A, so if you want power your going to have to swap or go turbo/sc...needs more room in the engine bay....oh and one of my biggest complaint is the door actuators...I'm on my 4th one...

lol, I did just the opposite. 96 Accord --> EP. You're the second person I've talked to in the last 2 weeks that went ep --> 96 Accord. Or are you the same person that I sold RSX-S seats to....?

I didn't say it would fix it. I said it could prevent it. The Mugen Sport Suspension actually positions the tie rod at the proper location.

I haven't heard about door actuator problems. That's new to me. Sucks you're on your 4th. That's terrible. All OEM replacements too?
