Default 92 eg exhaust- I'm fed up

Okay I've about had it with my car. My buddy's dad put a greddy evo exhaust on that I got for free and it looks HORRIBLY (rice rice baby) It was for a coupe and he seems to think it looks good, and I have no tools to cut it off. The canister is too long and it is about an inch away from the control arm so I can't move it any further in.

It doesn't even sound any different from when there was no muffler on it. Loud and crappy.

What is your suggestion to fix this. I'm limited on cash and I'd like my car to sound half way decent. Plz don't flame me, i just need help. I've seen civics that sound good w/o huge mufflers. So someone help lol.

here is the dreadful pic, personally I think it would be embarrasing driving with it lol

Autozone Dynomax oval muffler painted black...

But you need to get a full 2.5" cat-back first. Youve still got stock piping correct?

and no don't do that, than you'll have the same exact looking muffler just with a shorter tip... if anything delete about 8" somewhere in the mid pipe, have ur muffler hanger arms cut off and rewelded to support the new stance it takes... that's the only real way to do this with keepin the muffler on the car and not makin it look like ***.. right where the exhaust pipe connects into the muffler you could also get it cut there and slightly angled & rewelded to make it even have that out & up tilt &"super clean", instead of out & down "rice & ugly"...

If I understand correctly, you find it ugly AND you disslike the sound?

Just sell it and use the cash for a new one.
In the meantime, go a junk yard and get a cheap stock muffler (30$ tops) and use that until someone buys your Greddy. Then use the $$$ from the greddy sale for a new muffler that is more to your liking.

Like others have already said, sell the exhaust/muffler and get a stock muffler from a junkyard and get that welded on instead.

I would like it, if it fit lol. Its too long and can't move it any further in. But I do like the angled look or what are my other options that I do not have to spend $500 DOLLARS on?

Pretty much everyone has given you the reasonable answer, go to a muffler shop. They can either modify that exhaust to fit or weld up something cheap. If your looking for an aftermarket bolt-on exhaust you're just going to have to wait and save up.

for like 50 or 60 dollars you can take it to a muffler place and have them cut a section out so it doesnt look like *** and reweld it

first. go to a muffler shop

second. bring with you a 2" inlet and outlet dynomax turbo muffler you bought at autozone or wherever.

third. ask them to cut off the old one and weld in the new one with the correct reducer to fit the new inlet size to the pipe.

fouth and maybe most important. sell the muffler to someone who has a coupe before this goes on so you can pay for the shop to fab up something nice and have extra money.

fifth. send the muffler to whoever bought it.

no, not the canister... the B-Pipe section that makes the two 90 degree turns going from muffler to cat..

you need to find a different muffler if you ever intend to have a rear sway bar. As much as I want to say keep the b-piping cause it's stainless, it's not stainless, only the muffler.

that muffler is loud, no way to solve that, leave the resonator in place along with a cat and a decent muffler that fits the car and you'll be happy with it. Taking out the cat, it gets a little buzzy, removing the resonator make things buzzy no matter what else you do.
