AVG-VDP1

Brand new Pioneer AVG-VDP1, on the install for the violet/white (reverse) wire, what exactly is the point of this? I understand if I had the back-up camera the point but without the camera is it needed?

No it does not

, however the AVG-VDp1 has a form of GPS.
