Ok, I would search, but I'm on my blackberry and kinda stuck right now. Background of car: 1990 crx hf with obd0 dohc zc. Usually, if you turn the key to the number 2 position, the lights on the instrument cluster (check engine light, oil light, etc) will turn on briefly and the fuel pump will prime. Now, it's not doing that on the #2 position. Instead, if I hold the key slightly before or after 2, the lights will turn on as usual and fuel pump primes, but after starting the car it immediately dies. I have gotten it to work on #2 a few times after the problem started, but can't get it to work at all now. Also, I'm not sure if this is related, but since the problem started but while the car was running, there were times when I would accelerate and the rpms would suddenly drop rapidly. It didn't seem to have any effect on the motor though. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

 

try your ignition switch.(just the wiring part) same thing happen to me. had an extra one and swapped it over.

 

Ok, cool. That's the same thing a friend told me, but just wanted other opinions

 

u need a new ignition switch probably the white plug part the the tumbler screws too
