Blue Smoke out of Exhaust
Hi there,
I've got a JDM B16A swap in a 99 EK hatch.
I'm getting a blue puff out of the exhaust, but only when I shift. Mods are simply an intake, no cat, apexi n1 muffler, GSR header. It's not oil, the level hasn't dropped at all. From what I've heard, blue smoke is excess fuel? So is basically is all I need a tune, because I'm running really rich? Or would the lack of cat cause this?
Thanks.

yes, blue smoke is a sign that your rings are going down hill, if it only does it at shifting thats means there not horrible but its only gonna get worse... time for a rebuild!
If it only puffs when you shift, chances are it's valve seals. A little bit easier / cheaper to replace than the rings, but you may as well do those too while you have it apart.
