92 teg LS + 91 CRX HF = ...?
for what its worth, this is my first post. ive been reading and researching like a madman in the past few weeks, and needless to say... im excited. ive avoided registering on this site just because theres _so_ much content already and im well aware how bothersome it is to repeat information.
so, that in mind.... i have a 91 CRX HF. its my first car (im 21, learned how to drive in iraq, got my license a few months ago after getting back, haha). my thirst for mechanical knowledge could be likened to a well whose bottom is yet to be discovered. =P
i would like to upgrade everything i can on the little rex just as a learning experience. of course it'll be more fun to drive, but thats secondary to actually _doing_ the modification. suspension, brakes, engine, exhaust, and a few other things are floating around in my brain.
i had found all of the information i needed via google (give or take a few points) up until now. just this evening, i found a 92 teg ls that seems to be in good condition. im gonna have to go check it out... but. its 40 minutes away and the guy wants $850 for it. the body is all sorts of nasty, but that doesnt matter. the seller says the clutch slips, but hes including a new one with the purchase... so hopefully that will solve that problem.
so! with that new information... im really curious:
how _much_ can be swapped from the 92 teg to the 91 rex hf?
i know i can upgrade the rear drums to discs using a lot of the teg parts. i know the motor will fit nicely. what else?
could i swap _more_ of the rear suspension? would i want to? could i swap the front brakes/hub/suspension/etc? would i want to? ive read that the teg steering knuckles are bigger than the rex knuckles so it throws the camber way off. so far that someone said they couldnt even correct it with a camber kit.
in any case... thats my question! even with just the engine and the rear suspension/brake upgrade, the $850 is worth it to me. but... theres so much more left to the car! haha. i could do power steering, i think? that would be kind of silly, but who knows.
who else has some creative ideas? something that perhaps might not be worth doing on its own, but since id have the whole other car at my disposal...?
thanks for your time.

i read a couple thread earlier in the week with the same questions here's one i cant find the thread with the da suspension https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/2140287
redsi - so that thread says good things for the front suspension swap. awesome.
thanks for that.
daddy - i plan to.
yet im still wondering - what else is there to swap out from the integra? engine, tranny, suspension, brakes, and...? also, i totally acknowledge that im an auto-mechanics newb, so if im being too general by saying something like "suspension", please correct me.

if the da(integra) seats are good swap those 2
there a little nice than the hf seats unless you got the si which i assume you didn't

oh? the seats will swap directly?
thats freakin exciting if true, because the seats on my rex are shot to ****. =D
richy - im not sure... x.o what does that rating effect in terms of compatibility? im pretty sure id be swapping out _everything_ thats directly effected by the engine anyway, right? haha.

you can swap the rear brakes for the disc you dont need to do the fronts. if u went to a shop and had them do it its like 1600+ just make sure they get a ecu jumper and not split wires i had that problem with a shop in san diego called pann auto had to take them to court because they screwed me over so bad i got my money back but i ended up having to do the swap myself
hondaman - yeah man, im gonna be doing everything myself i can. we have this sweet deal called the "auto skills shop" near where i live. $7/hr for a bay with a lift and all the tools you could want (except welding). theres also experienced mechanics there whose sole purpose is to help you out if you need it.
hatchy - i plan on using both! =D teg brakes all around (plus mc and prop) will make my rex a better car to drive. i heard the hf had a different sized axle spline (not even sure what that is). will i have to swap out other stuff to do a suspension swap while keeping the stock motor for a while?
also, i might have an hf tranny (168k right now) for you in a while if you havent found one when i get ready to swap my engine.

front & rear brakes, entire drivetrain, seats will need some modification but with some ghetto fabrication you can make it work.
i did this exact thing and swapped over the front & rear swaybars & the armrest too.
