Default d series cylinder head question

i am a b series guy, i just picked up my 2nd 91 civic hatch but this one is all stock so it will be the first civic that has a orginal motor, but it needs a new head gasket. i havent tore any thing apart and i dont know if the head is warped. i know a lot of this stuff is interchangeable. So if the head is warped i have a 99 civic head laying around from a civic Lx can i just slap that on there or is there other stuff involved?

i believe the bolt pattern is diff for the dpfi, but an Si d16a6 obd0 dizzy will work on the 99 head. and yea you can bolt that head right on. also dont forget to remove the dowel pin from the block just in case you ever intend to hook up vtec.

no you don't need all that extra shenanigans to make it work. its sooo easy in comparison to an ls/v build. just search for mini-me information in the recent and archived content and i imagine you'll find out everything you need to know.

your DPFI manifold will bolt up to the 99 head, but one problem you might have is the water port going from the intake to the head may be different. I did the mini me swap on my civic running with the DPFI manifold, but I was constantly losing water threw that water port. The 88-91 water port is more like a square port, and the 99 is circle. I tried slapping it on and putting form-a-gasket on it, still didn't work.

ah it sounds as if i am going to have to buy a bunch more parts that i really dont feel like having to put the money into. all to just to make it get me through winter and then i am putting my gsr swap into. i really only want to fix this motor b/c it dont smoke... it has 217k and runs very good... just head gasket problem and i am afraid the head is warped. if not then its going to get the stock head back on... i just want to prepair for the worst
