Default H22 oil "disappearing"

I have a 95 H22 that has been using about 1L oil every 500 km for quite a while. There is little, if any oil leaking onto my driveway but some oil is beading up on the bottom of oil pan. I have never seen any blue smoke come out from the back of my car, only black smoke when i rev high but there is black sooty crap all over the back of my car after a long drive (i don't think it is oil). Also, I checked my spark plugs and they are clean. The oil does get dirty really fast after a change too. I have not checked the vtec solenoid gasket, cam plug or oil cooler o ring. Could this much oil be disappearing from these places or are there some other suggestions?

Start by replacing the PCV valve.

Clean the undercarriage of your car and recheck for leaks.

You could have an issue with the oil cooler o-ring.
