Default Lighted PW switch, how?

I've always wondered why the Passenger Power window switch wasn't lighted
at least it's not on my 92S

I was junking yesterday and saw that it got added on some later model or different trim lines.

I grabbed the newer switch and unfortunately there's no place for the light pigtail to plug-in(was thinking maybe it would be hidden in the door panel some where, like fog relay wires-there but not used unless installed)

Would seem I could tap some wires in the door to power a wedge bulb

Anyone know a pair that's always hot in the driver's door. Anyone with a schematic? Anyone help me out

thanks

This might help you, it's kind of hard to tell what's what though.

Doesn't that just make it light up all the time instead of when you turn on your headlights?

Yea, it would have to.

There's a red & black wire going to the dimmer switch next to cruise/sunroof that is hot only when the lights are on. I think that would be the easiest way. You could just run wires along where the speaker wires go to the door.

Yeah, but why are you worried about it lighting up in the day - you dont even notice it.

Would it shut off when you pull the key out? If that's the case, I would say have it on all the time. It's better than running a wire all the way from the dash switches.

I'd much rather have it connected properly than have the bulb burn out prematurely for being on twice as long as it should be.

Yes it does shut off when you take the key out...
Definately better than running your own wire. The bulb is hardly gonna burn out prematurely :S its the equivalent of driving around with your parkers on in the day etc... how many people do you see doing that ****?

94-96.

Also, I ended up just running a wire to the dimmer switch and tapped into the part that lights that switch up.

I ran the wire while I installed my JDM Power folding mirrors.
