Default Would it be better for performance if...........

I put a AEM CAI for a TYPE R, on my LS? Would there be any more gains over the AEM CAI made for the LS? People put the OEM INTAKE off the TYPE R on the LS, so why not the AEM one? ANy input would be great...THANKS!

If you look at the model number, regardless of if you have an LS or an ITR, you are getting the same intake.

neg. ITR intake has larger diameter, its 3". Ls is 2.5". I can personally vouch for this.

You'd gain top end, but lose low end with the ITR intake vs. teh LS intake.

The difference between the R and the RS/LS is that the R draws air from the fender, not the engine compartment.

There is absolutely no difference in putting the R intake on versus the RS/LS intake. Buy whatever is cheaper. Any time you can introduce colder air into the mix, you're better off.

You have ABS, right? I don't; I have a 3 inch tube right from my throttle body to the hole in the fender, then to a K&N mounted inside the fender, using the stock 90 degree plastic tube. Tight setup.

Intakes are tuned to make the most power for their application. The 2.5" diameter for the LS takes better advantage of its good torque curve.
