Today my 02 Accord SE started to overheat, i noticed the lower rad hose is way cooler then the upper hose so does that mean bad thermostat?


There was a hissing noice coming from the general area near the thermostat housing. Looking closer i found this crack in a small hose above the thermostat which is spurting coolant all over the place.

Anybody know what this hose is called??

will tape or possible superglue fix this crack till i can get to a auto parts store?

also do you think it cracked because the t-stat stopped working so it got too hot?

lower radiatior hose? i suggest u replace the hose before u [freak] up the rest of the cooling system. its only around 10-30 bucks anyway

 

I believe the hose you're talking about is the #4 on this picture, called "hose B, breather heater", shouldn't cost more than 2 dollars.
