Default NOOBIE HERE

Whats going on guys. I will be buying my first car in march of next year, so I am comparing the S2000 to the DC5 (rsx). I've never been the type to like japanese cars, Honda's at that, but once I took a ride in my friends S2000, the 9000 rpms blew my mind. Now, I can't stop talking about these things. So, I have a few questions, so feel free to post your replies and other comments you may have:

1. The interior is very small, but how would you rate it for daily driving or long road trips?

2. For the guys that track their cars, what area of the car needs the most attention?

3. For guys under the age of 25, how much is your insurance per year for the S2K?

4. Obviously, Honda is known mostly for their high reliability, but is the S2000 as reliable as Hondas other models?

5. Other than it being rwd, why did you buy the S2000?

6. What performance parts are needed to make good horsepower and torque gains without compromissing reliability.

Thanks everyone for the help and welcome.

Unless you are really large you will be fine. Search man... you will find out that a lot of bigger guys own and dd this car.

2. For the guys that track their cars, what area of the car needs the most attention?

SEARCH

3. For guys under the age of 25, how much is your insurance per year for the S2K?

SEARCH - there have been many threads about this.

4. Obviously, Honda is known mostly for their high reliability, but is the S2000 as reliable as Hondas other models?

Honda has gone above and beyond the call of duty for a performance car with the S2K. It has forged internals and a very well tuned ECU. The car was built to last..(as long as you take care of it)

5. Other than it being rwd, why did you buy the S2000?

Because it is a Honda and it is IMO the best bang for the buck out of the box performance car on the market.

6. What performance parts are needed to make good horsepower and torque gains without compromissing reliability.

None- Performance parts take away from reliability IMO. But your best bang for the buck IMO is the AEM CAI.

Thanks everyone for the help and welcome. </TD></TR></TABLE>

1. The interior is very small, but how would you rate it for daily driving or long road trips?

Depends on how big you are and what the weather is like for tyhe trips. I really wouldn't say it's the best DD. Not too great in the rain or snow, especially the ladder. Also... It is a 2 seater with a smaller trunk. If you have another car to drive then you would be fine.

2. For the guys that track their cars, what area of the car needs the most attention?

It depending on what kind of racing you are doing. For auto-X the bast bang for your buck would be a good front sway bar. (Of course good brakes and tires are a must.)

3. For guys under the age of 25, how much is your insurance per year for the S2K?

NO ONE can answer this question accurately for you. All you have to do is call your ins and ask for a quote. Takes 10 minuets or less.

4. Obviously, Honda is known mostly for their high reliability, but is the S2000 as reliable as Hondas other models?

Absolutely!

5. Other than it being rwd, why did you buy the S2000?

6. What performance parts are needed to make good horsepower and torque gains without compromissing reliability.

There aren't a whole lot of gains to be had with a stock motor unless you go with forced induction. I recommend just driving the car for awhile before you think about any modifications.

Thanks everyone for the help and welcome.

Welcome

Thanks for the info man. I have tracked my dads E30 M3 and E60 M5 before, so I'm taking an S2k out tomorrow to see how handling can compare to the M3. But, yeah, this car is small as hell, but you've got to sacrifice to be a top compeditor on the track
