What radiator do I use in a hybrid swap?
I have recently swapped out the engine in my 97 Civic Coupe DX with a 98 B18C VTEC block. I have everything mounted and done except the wiring. I just need to know what radiator to use and what hoses to use going from the Integra block to the Civic inlets/outlets. Help me out - someone!
I tried using the stock hoses - some ends and bigger/smaller than the inlets/outlets - should I custom trim them or get oversized ones and just use hose clamps?
The gsr ones should fit onto the civic radiator then you use hose clamps to hold them onto the radiator. My friend actually used, for the lower part of the radiator, his stock civic one it had to stretch over the gsr coolant part but it fit. Upper radiator hose is the gsr one.
use both of the GSR ones, cut a section of the civic hoses and leave them on the radiator to use a spacer to make the gsr ones "fit".
When I did my swap, my stock rad wouldn't do the trick (one for a D15B7 manual). So, I bought a del Sol dual core and not only did it bolt up directly, it solved all of my problems. About 200 bones anyplace you look....

if anything, you can use a dual-core radiator that were on the 94-97 Del-Sol Vtec.
it will bolt up to your existing brackets.
i pick one aftermarket (made by Modine) for like $85 bucks or so.
check your local radiator shop. they should have a listing.
actually, come to think about it, when they look up mine, it had a part number for the civic eg sir-2. the same as the del-sol. thier catalog was standard for all world-wide cars.
i'm still using the stock radiator from my d16z6. swapped in a jdm b16a, but have very few mods to the engine. i do recommend picking up a set of the del sol VTEC radiator hoses to make things easier. unless you go FI or plan to road race alot, you should be just fine with the stock radiator IMO
My stock CX radiator lasted 2 months after dropping my b18c1. I got a replacement radiator from radiators.com for $135 shipped and it's made for a 97 del sol dohc vtec.
del sol dual core bolts right in. or gsr/itr full row but you will need a good machine shop that can make you custom brackets, and plus it eliminates AC
