Default unreadable diagnostic plug

I have a 96 Integra ls and I have check engine light on. I went to autozone to have it scanned and but they couldn't get any data. The wires seem to be intact. Do you guys have any suggestions?

I thought 96 and later vehicles use OBD-II

I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Try the DIY code reading to make sure the ecu is working correctly!! Then take it back and if it doesn't work tell them they are dumb!!
