Default Motor Mount Replacement...99 accord

99 accord lx, 4cyl., auto.

The motor mounts are bad on the car. I am going to replace them myself. Pretty straight forward? I am going to do all three.

Any advice or tips? Does it matter what order I replace them in? Or is it easier if I do a certain one first, or??

Do you just use a floor jack or is a engine hoist needed (I have one of each).

Any other parts need to come off other than just unbolting the old mount and putting the new one in??

Thanks!!!!

Okay;

I replaced the front, rear, and worked with the driver side mount..

Front and driver are pretty easy. To undo the front one, you need to support the engine with your jack (place a piece of wood in between the jack and the oil pan). You first start by removing the middle (long) bolt, then the support thats bolted to the block, then the engine mount. Install is reverse.

Driver mount. Pretty much the same but there's an order when it comes to re-installing it. Sadly i dont have my shop manual near so i cant specify.

Rear.. This one is a total bitch. Took me two days because a damn mount bolt snapped and i had to grind it off with a dremel..(and make a hole in the subframe so i could put a new bolt back there..) This one too is kind of touchy.. Plus, you need to go under the car to remove certain hardware.. (if you dont have ramps...)

Transmission mount looks easy, removing the battery and intake duct will leave you alot of space to work around.

If i dont get back home too late this weekend, i'll try posting pics of the procedure in my factory manual.

I hope you got a good set of tools too..

I didnt even think about the transmission mount. So I guess there are 4 mounts?

Yeah, if you could post any info that would be great. I probably wont get to it until later in the week anyways.

Yeah, I have tools.

Thanks!!!

Yea, don't forget about the rear tranny mount! This is what I have to replace on my 99 accord right now. I've done all three frount mounts already, but I'm pretty sure my rear tranny mount is shot. When I throw it in reverse my engine rocks back way too much. I hope this is my problem anyway! It's the only thing that I can see making the engine rock back like that. When I got home last night, it literally felt like my engine was going to fall out!
