Help 96 ls teg not starting
hm.
I'd try checking your firing order
then maybe your plugs also
Have you tested the distributor for spark? Maybe when you changed your distributor you forgot a ground or knocked out a wire

Did you install the distributor correctly? When I had the same problem, I replaced my distributor, but installed it 180 degrees off. All it did was backfire when I tried starting it.

the distributor should fit only one way without any force.. if you had to force it in then that's where you messed up... there's an index mark on the distributor, and you can visually see which half of the cam is wider

I would disconnect the line to make sure you do have fuel pressure instead of assuming there's fuel pressure by simply "hearing" or "smelling" it... just to make sure

my crank pully bolt snapped but only the head of the bolt and like 2 threds on the top the pully is on tight... can't i adjust TDC by tapping the key? and also the distributor i put on lost its spark..... so im going to get another one and try again..... if it doesnt work this time what do you think could be the problem?
remember this all happened because i was trien to do a compression test and i pulled out the spark plug wires but i didnt disconnect the distributor... then the car wouldnt start when i plugged back in the wires and spark plugs...
