Default automatic tranny not down shiftin when stepping on the gas.... 1994 integra sedan ls

i dont know much about auto trannys, anyway, i'll be in 3rd to 4th gear and step on it to like pass a car right? it just falls on its face. doesnt downshift to accelerate.. it just chills in that same gear and tryins to accelerate from there... what could cause the tranny to not register it needs to downshift.. and also it has a little trouble going into fourth.. it likes to stay at like 2-2.5 x100 rpms... if i hit up to 3-3.5 it'll shift... anyway. just wondering if you guys know how to help me or what i need to have looked at..

The first thing you should do when you have issues with your tranny is check your fluid. Then think about changing your fluid

It could be the fluid, also some people mess up the overdrive (D3, D4) and the shifter doesnt stay on either d3 or d4 but inbetween them. Have a Look.
