my brothers crx is sputtering when launched hard
if you stomp it and it spins the tires it does fine ,but if it catches grip it will start sputtering like it aint geting fuel under a load, ive checked the timming, new fuel pump new fuel filter, and checked all the grounds twice, if your at a dead stop it will rev out and not miss a beat or if you do a burnout it will spin them all day ,but if it catches grip it starts jumping like it aint getting fuel, please give advice thanks
It revs up fine when not driving bcuz their is no load being placed on the motor. Could be something with the ignition/timing.Sounds like it could b detonating, What ecu r u running?
My brother's 3000GT did that too, we seafoamed it and it ran fine after that. When he launched it, it would go from 2K RPM to 1.6K and them go through the RPMs fine after that. It only did it at low rpms and if it was pushed hard.
stock ecu, but wat ecu-pr3/p30? If u dont have ur sensors hooked up right it could b the problem. Ur O2 sensors hookep?(remember on b16 their are 2 O2's)U poppin a check engine?
its a d16 in it and it still is runin the stock si ecu, when it catchs grip it will sputter then catch then sputter then catch, until it finally catchs and plains out and itl go fine

check the cold air intake ..mine was hitting the battery post ONLY when it launched and shorting out the system .....sound like the same thing
Same thing happened to my CR-X before. It turned out that I had bad spark plug wires. If I were you I would check your WIRES, Dizzy CAP and ROTOR.

yea my moms car also had this issue, her spark plug wire was ripped (the end to the spark plugs but where it snugs on the VC is where it was ripped.)
