anyone done a 2.1L n/a ls motor?:
I am just curous to weather or not they make some power?.Im sure swapping this motor or series engine is better blah blah .. but I know this I am just asking if anyone tried a 2.1L b18a/b maybe w/a ported head typer pistons or better and cams?. could be a snake in the grass ? ..
Type R pistons are 81mm. To increase the displacement, most common way is to use bigger pistons 84mm+ and/or a stroker crank. So no, 81mm Type R pistons arent going to work.
As far as anyone doing a 2.0+ LS setup, sure, theres plenty that have done it. Pretty nice setup, in my opinion. Not going to make the most power compared to a VTEC head setup, but you can make some decent power to play with.

Yea I am no engine builder so I just wanted to know if it was actually nice to do?.
and as far as a VTEChead set-up I know it's always best but just curious.

To get that displacement you will need bigger bore and longer stroke, a 85mm x 92mm is 2088cc. You'll need to sleeve the LS block and get yourself new pistons/rods/crank to get this displacement. After spending this much on a bottom end I'd also go for a VTEC head, then you'd have a 230whp+ motor if done correctly.

I am currently in the process of having a 2.1L LS/VTEC built. ITs 86x89mm Darton Mid sleeves Ls block. 14:1 pistons and CNC B16 head and big cams. Im hoping for 250ish but we will se come Mid April. Definetly a fun build but its a pain in the ***.
