so my battery was real weak and i got a new one yesterday. my lights dont dim when i start my car any more and it starts up real nice. well this morning i got in my car and plugged my phone is the charger with my dome light shining and went to start my car and everything went dead. no juice at all. so i tried push starting my car and nothing. then i tried again and everything went on.. but real dim. then i tried push starting again to no avail and turned my key on again and everything went on and my car started. i drove to work and shut my car off and turned my key. i could hear my starter clicking, but nothing. i went outside on my break when it was light out to see if something was grounding wrong or something and checked to see if my car would start. it started right up without a problem and has the last 3 or few times ive started it. what the heck could have been wrong this morning? a ground wire not connecting right? my battery is brand new and my starter has never sounded weak.. hmmm? i have no idea. anyone have any ideas that i could check out next time i have a little time to go look?

by the way its a 1994 civic ex 5 speed.

 

alternator going bad? sounds like that to me.

 

Also check that the battery connectors are tight and not corroded. Do the same for the battery ground wire connected to the body frame.

 

Either the alternator or connection should be checked like they said. Check or replace the main battery fuse as well 80A I think it is in the engine bay fuse box.
