They remove all bushing compliance. This bushing compliance can create a mushy feeling suspension, but it also plays a huge role in reducing NVH.
For a daily, OEM rubber. Anything else is inferior.
For a track car, things change though...

personal preference. sphericals need to be cleaned often and aren't really suited for street use because of this. oddly, many honda guys seem to enjoy rubber over poly. this is strange to me since i have never chatted on another car forum where people feel this way. personally i like energy suspension since they flex less than rubber and don't require the cleaning that metal sphericals do.
