HELP!!!! 2000 HONDA CIVIC SI ; ENGINE LIGHT FLASHING; CHOKING
My SI's engine light started flashing yesterday while I was driving. When my car is at a stop/or idle, the engine doesn't die but it's like it's choking. Does anyone know what's wrong or how to fix my car? Please help....
Could be a few things.
Take the car to autozone and have them scan for which check engine code the car is throwing. Then post the code here and people will have a better idea what you need to do.

You could also pull the CEL code at home using the jumper wire method:

When the CEL flashes, it is warning you that the engine is misfiring at a level that may damage the catalytic converter. Therefore, stop driving the car until you fix the problem.

the flashing light does mean catalyst damage, but dosent have to be a misfire. I have seen this on injectors that had a slight leak and just ran to rich but was still able to get off a combustion cycle.
