Removing lower ball joint
I'm trying to remove the lower ball joint on the right side of my car, but I seem to be stuck. It won't budge. Do I have to pound it up or down? I've tried both directions, but no luck.
On the new ball joint, it comes with a ring. On the broken one on my car, I can't find the ring. Anyone care to help?

balljoints arnt easy to get out. I had to take off my control arm and pound it out with a hammer. Dont buy the balljoint forker tool. It didnt do me any good.
Multiple hard smacks with a baby sledge got both of mine separated when we did my clutch install. It takes some guts to smack your car that hard, but it works.
Do it the We-Todd way! Jack the suspension up, place a ratchet or breaker or something else strong right above the lower arm at the joint. When you lower the suspension the t00l will force the lower arm down and will separate the joint. Works very well, and with an big loud BANG that means you know you've got it right (Thanks D

take out the control arm assembly and use an air hammer...easiest way..or a punch and a hammer...just don't use a punch puttin the new one in...might damage..use alot of wd40 or lubricant
