timing belt issue

Default timing belt issue

Well after i got my 94 running i noticed the belt is trying to move off the pulleys i dont know why maybe the tensoner is lose i dunno anyone ever had this problem someone told me it had something to do with my head being machined i dont know all i know the only thing keepng it on is the timing cover. Any help would be appreciated thanks

try loseing the tenstior then retigting it.

i found a rubber grommet above the crank pully behind it was a bolt is this the tensioner bolt?

yes that is the tensioner bolt. i would have to believe that that tensioner is bad. i have seen a few tensioner pulley bearings go bad and they tend to walk the belt off.

1.check all pulleys. tensioner,cam gears,water pump, crank gear.
2. do you have the spacers behind your crank gear correct. backwards or maybe missing
3. is something bent and or wobbly
4.take it to someone that can figure it out before catastrophe

the tensioner is fine i think i got it back on there and tight i wil update tommorow to see if that took care of it. I dont know if there are any spacers as i didnt build the motor just assembled the top end if it doesent work out i will just get someone to fix it

Well it tried to come off again i guess iwll have to let someone else fix her i have never had any luck doing my own timing belts anyway
