Car wont rev past 2k on hondata, s200, s300 or chrome pro
OK so a couple of days agao i got my car tuned on hondata s200, all goes well then it starts running like crap and losses 40whp on the dyno so we took it off
- Next day i start it up to see if anything changes ( still runs the same)
- so i change the spark plugs with some fresh ngk's
- I go to start it up again and it runs even worse and wont rev past 2k
- usually thats a sign of limp mode or some sort of problem with the ecu
- next i swap it over with a stock h22 ecu and it revs up fine
- thinking it must be the hondata i call the tuner and he reloads the map
- still the same problem
- so i go buy another s200 thinking it would fix the problem and it doesnt fix it
- so i buy chrome pro and another chipped ecu and that doesnt fix the problem
- so after that i decide to get a hondata s300 and use that, so i order one from inline pro and load a stock h22 basemap on it and it still runs the same
- so now im getting pissed because i dished out a lot of money and a stock p13 will work but a s300 with a p13 map wont
- also i decided to put the ecus in a friends car (not h22) and they all start and run the car fine
- so now i have 2 s200 1 chrome pro and 1 s300 and cant seem to figure out what could cause my car to read one ecu but not another
i have no cels or any wiring issues - although when i loaded the s300 the code 20 for eld came on but i cleared it and it hasnt come back since
also anyone looking for a s200 lmk
Update: injectors were peak and hold, so i replaced them with known saturated 550cc injectors and still nothing, i also got some 750cc saturated ones that said SL also and it still would only rev to 2k
- as a last resort i installed the stock injectors back in loaded a stock h22 map on the s300 and tried to start it and no such luck still a 2k rev limit, its exactly the same with the chrome pro ecu the two s200's and the s300 however it runs perfect on the stock p13
i really dont want to be forced to take my turbo kit off

i really cant figure out what could cause this problem, however i am gonna get a resistor box tomorrow and wire it up just to make sure the injectors are not peak and hold (bought them used) even though it doesn't make sense that they worked perfectly fine when i got it tuned, hopefully that works otherwise im back to square zero...

The injectors will say PL*-720cc if they are low impedance.
They will say SL*-720cc is they are high impedance. To my knowledge RC does not make a high impedance 720cc injector.
Not trying to knock anyone, but if your tuner did not check this I would suggest finding a tuner with more experience.

i guess really the question to ask would be
what does a stock p13 ecu have that a p28 with an h22 map doesnt
so far i thought of these?
Knock sensor control
Secondary butterflies control
neither of the two would cause these problems

There aren't any major difference between the P13's and the rest of the OBD1 ecu's as far as sensor inputs/outputs go.
Judging by what all of your posts have said so far I think its time to tow this car to a shop with a good rep and a known tuner. Sorry but it sounds like whatever is wrong with this car is a little out of your league and its time to give up and pay someone with a little more experience to figure it out.
I wish you the best of luck and let us know what happens with this car.

LOL sorry i couldnt do that no shop has ever touched my car
I did the RHD conversion
A Good Portion of The paint and bodywork
The H22 Swap
The Wire Tuck
Installed The Turbo Setup (Im even in the process of making my own custom tigged manifold)
ive asking a couple of friends of mine that all work at reputable shops in the area and they all have no clue either so im not gonna pay someone large amounts off cash for them to do the same exact things i am doing now
Heres my car which is so far two years in the making in between being a full time student and work

Thanks for the assumptions and anymore insight would be greatly appreciated

Ok, so here's the next question. You did the swap, you messed with the wiring harness.
When doing the swap did you:
A) Add the wiring for the EGR.
B) Swap A6 and A11 to have everything pinned out like a P13 should be.
If so you're basically opening up the EGR valve all the time and recirculating exhaust gas back into the intake, which could potentially cause your problem. You'll want to swap A6 and A11 back to run a Civic/Integra ECU.
Hopefully that's the problem. The only issue with that idea is you said it was running properly at some point when it was tuned.

I have a EGR blockoff plate, so no egr, but im unsure if i did or not since this was over a year ago that i did the wiring, ill check tomorrow and run some more test and let you know
once again thanks for the help
once again thanks for the help
sup man, im having the same problem with my h22a wont go past 2k rpm and ive even try an s300 and still the same thing all it does when i start the engine with the s200 it starts fine but like 15sec later it starts dying on me slowly untill it shuts off and when i try to rev it all it does is backfire and like shoking wanting to shutdown, is that what happens to you?
Heres my set up:
Fully built H22a
Built head(everything aftermarket)
After market piston, rods, crank ect...
Gt40R
Custom Turbo Manifold
3" IC Pipes
3" Exhaust
Tial WG(40mm) and BOV
Big front Mount intercooler(biggest you can fit on a EG6)
Precision 1000cc
AEM Fuel Rail
Custom Throthle body(3.5")
Custom Intake Manifold(3.5")
AEM 3.5 Bar map sensor
and for the wire harness i used a Type-R some one please help!!!!
