A friend and I are going to buy a 2001 ITR motor/swap tom. from the Toronto area. It will be going into a hatch temporarely while we pull the other motor (215 whp 2.0lvtec n/a) to be rebuild. The ITR the motor was pulled from is getting a Spoon motor and is becomeing a track only car.
Point being, this 01 ITR LEGIT/LEGAL swap will be available in a few months. so keep it in mind if anyone is interested in building a second motor on the side with no down-time.

The motor was picked up today, After verify the VIN# matched the registration that was in the sellers name. VIN tags in place and untampered with.
A nice clean LEGIT sale.

I call BS. ITR motors only come from wrecked ITR's, or from Japan -- just ask the hybrid guys.
it's really odd you make this thread though
if i was really going to do things legitly, i wouldnt even tell anyone. not even a soul

I think the point was to show some of the ITR owners that think that most hybrids are running hot motors that he is doing things as legit as possible. Although I can pretty much guess what the response will be.
One of the guys here has a pretty quote. I think it said something to the effect of "Not every hybrid has a stolen motor but every ITR engine stolen ends up in a hybrid". I like that statement. I think that pretty much sums up the whole hybrider vs ITR arguement. (Notice my impartialness since I owned a ITR and I have a hybrid now).

-Dave, who dreams of ***** and ****, not of reasons someone would use to sell a motor.
well this is what I did to get a legit motor.
found some punk *** driving ITR, forced him off the road with my truck, my buddies pulled the cherry picker out the back, and while they were pulling out his motor, I made a copy of his registration, and made him sign a receipt/contract that he gave me the motor from his car.
Result: 100% Legit ITR Swap with papers FOOL!

This is not meant to be a slam on anyone, but some of the ITR owners out there have the income to actually purchase a Spoon motor and convert the car to a fullly prepped track car. Which is the case of the ITR this motor came from. The seller had everything from the registration with VIN, to the window sticker with VIN, to the acura books the car came with all in his name.
He was given a cashiers check made to his name.
The customs agents didn't have a problem with the motor when it was brought across the border either.
Those are all the facts, take it or leave it

But I am little disheartened that legit ITR swaps are so rare that someone has to make a special post about it
