You could read up on the FAQ's and look around for good writeups on different upgrades and how they change the characteristics of the engine. Figure out what setup is best for you. Do you want a little power, but good response, and then hit the corners? Do you want super power to go in a straight line? What's your suspension setup as of now? Sluggish suspension response can result in lack of satisfaction with an engine's current power.
Either way, remember to think twice, and mod once. Research is the key.
