Default flywheel/starter problem...b16b

i recently bought a 93 civic with a b16 type R.. the guy i got it from said it needed a new starter... i bought a new starter and it didnt work..i got a starter for a 99-00 b16 is that the right starter or do i need a starter for a b16b? and when i took my starter out i reached in and i could wiggle my flywheel back and forth.. so is it the starter or flywheel? and if its the flywheel do i need a speacial one for lsd? thank you in advance for your help..

you can wiggle the flywheel back and forth?
i'd drop the transmision and find out why.. heh.. thats not good..

You shouldn't be able to wiggle your flywheel!
And no you wouldn't need a special one because you have an lsd tranny, any b series flywheel will work.
Like geebs said drop the tranny and find out why your flywheel wiggles back and forth.

I bet the flywheel bolts werent torqued down. They backed out, cause the flywheel to move around.. making the starter not touch the flywheel...
Just my 2 cents tho..

I'm willing to bet that is exactly what happened! Hopefully nothing was damaged because of it being loose.

thanks for all the help guys i will prolly just buy a light flywheel pull the tranny off and put the new one in...i posted on hondaswap yesterday and someone said it might be crank walk.. could that be a possobility? my car doesnt really vibrate when i accelerate though...

that would be some serious crank walk..
Remove the inspection cover from under the engine.. bolted to the transmission.. there might be engine stiffeners there as well, remove them too.

See how the flywheel moves around.. if it just goes back and forth, it could be crank walk.. i doubt that tho..
If it moves in all directions, its definately the flywheel bolts not tight
