auto crossing this weekend for the first time.
Well after owning this car for 2.5 years I've finally save up enough money to finally auto cross it
. Besides taking it on normal spirited drives on the backroads and highways. I've never tracked it. Can anyone give me any tips for getting good times and not making an *** out of myself? Will take pics this weekend and share it if I do good. LOL

A few suggestions would be, to add about 5lbs of tire pressure to whatever you normally roll on the street.
Pre walk the course until you know it by memory. This is crucial to your good time.
Dont be afraid to ask the long timers there questions.
Just go out and have fun your first couple of events and dont worry about being fast.

Definitely! I'm still very much an autox nOOb and getting "lost" on course isn't fun. Even if you walk it a few times....take it very easy on your first run. Then slowly you can build up speed each run. I usually take a good 8-10 seconds off my time from the first run to the last.
Have fun mang

Remove trunk mat if you have one, spare tire, jack & handle, get a shopping bag and remove all loose articles from inside of car incl. console, door pockets and glove box, check torque on lugnuts (when car is cool.)
Check oil, fluid levels, bleed brakes if it's been a while and clean or replace air filter.
Be well rested and get there early to talk to people and walk the course. Let 'em know you're a noob and you will get help & advice that will serve you well.
Do everything above three noobs posted and let us know how it goes.

LOL I leave all the crap in my cars when autocrossing. I win my class, so why waste the time when one can be Team Lazy?
Oh yeah, and have an experienced driver ride with you and find an experienced driver to ride with.

UPDATE:
Just got back from the event. Had a kick *** time. I had 4 runs.
The first run I didn't go all out since it was my first time autoxing, so I took my time just to get a feel for the track. I finished the course in 53 seconds.
The second run I had a bad launch and I got lost on the course, but still managed to finish in 53 seconds.
The third run I hit a few cones on the slalom like 2 I believe. Finished in 52 seconds. I lost 2 seconds per cone that I hit.
The fourth run was my best I stayed in 1st gear in the last 3 runs. And one of the more expirenced drivers told me to shift to 2nd and stay on 2nd the whole way. I listened to his advice and finished in 44 seconds.
Here's some pics I managed to load photobucket is acting up. I'll try upload the rest tomorrow night.
