02 sensor number 1 running too lean- code P0171. plss help!

i have my check engine light today.. when scanned. it shows that the 02 sensor at the exhaust manifold is running to lean..

what is the first step that i should do?

what is its effect on my engine?

I will appreciate all your advice guys!!!

Replace your o2 Sensor, if its running lean then your engine is using less fuel & more oxygen.
