How are MPGs on a turbo rsx-s?
So I know quite few of you should have some experience with this and eventually l'll want to turbo my type-s as well but I know it decreases MPGs but Im not sure by how much. So I was wondering what the general MPG with a turbo system is and what's a good way to build up your car into installing the turbo system (will i only need the turbo kit or will I need additional mods to work with it)
If you're really gonna worry about MPG then I wouldn't recommend turboing your car. If you do turbo though, you'll wanna def look at KPRO to tune your car to get the best gains from it.

exactly, if ur worried about gas mileage and want boost, go turbo a sohc, the kseries sucks gas with f.i, but good luck...
fyi, KPRO IS A MUST FOR ALL SERIOUS PERFORMANCE UPGRADES!

threads like this are dumb, you want a fast car but you worried about MPG, its like an oxymoron......unless you plan on getting that electric car, forget what its called

not really... you can have a fast car and get good gas mileage
example: my crx gets 40MPG on the freeway but is a B20VTEC and is very fast.

Dude stop being a dick and answer the question? I didnt say I cared about mpgs, im just looking at estimates of what the mpgs are with turbo so i can see what I can expect. Read my original post and quote me where it says that mpgs will determine if I get turbo or not. Im just trying to get information on a mod.

but common knowledge, more horses = less mpg

how is NA fail, its personal preference, you can't use fail on personal preference, just because you have turbo doesn't mean it is better, nor do you know what my needs are for the car, and i drive mostly city there fore turbo would lower my MPG

"I prefer N/A" is stating your preference.
"N/A FTW" is you stating N/A>F/I
Now this is coming from a big NA guy...myself. Ive loved dealing with NA engines over the last decade or so, and I still do, it takes alot of effort to gain power NA, but the results are always a fun tightly wound screamer, but daily effecient is what they are not, at least not for the kinda money we blow trying to gain a few extra HP lol
But more HP doesnt always equate to less MPG simply by power to weight ratio alone, a well tuned FI motor can easily move the same amount of weight around with using less effort, especially at low loads, while a NA engine is quite the opposite.
My Turbo 1st Gen Integra makes 180 whp 178 wtq @ 7 psi, and easily pushed 47 mpg at a range of 510 miles (hwy), and I average about 41 to 42 mpg City. Thats a vast improvement from the 35-37 mpg I used to get stock, mostly highway miles. Turbo = efficiency believe or not.
