All '08 Si's Coupes come with alarms right? (mystery part)
I noticed that there is a little rectangular plug screwed into the panel below the steering wheel/above the clutch pedal. It's less that 1" wide.
It does not look oem.(screwed to the panel)
I bought the car new so there is no chance of a previous owner installing something aftermarket.
To me it looks like an aftermarket alarm but I thought the Si came with an alarm from the factory.
The car is 100% stock (afaik) with about 100 miles on it.
Edit: Maybe I should take a pic of it. Ill load one up tomorrow.

Do dealers use those to protect their cars?
They were pushing the LoJack pretty hard when I bought the car. I opted out. Numerous times.

Yes and no. It DOES come with an alarm.....but it's only triggered if you open the doors without disarming the alarm with the remote. However the factory alarm doesn't have a shock sensor. You could bust out every window and kick the car all day long and nothing will happen.....but once the door is opened the alarm will sound.

I have a LX and got MicroTek Tracking on my car for 500$ from the original quote for 1.5k. And yea the alarm doesn't seem to be given off by any bumps or taps on the car, which may be a good thing and a bad thing.

It's not the OBD diagnostic port. I have a scanguage and I'm familar with that. It is way to small.

Upon closer inspection I am sure that it is aftermarket. Screwed and ziptied with a fues that are not in the fuse box.
Maybe it's a shock sensor because the oem alarm does not come with one like Rico pointed out above. It has an adjustment (sensitivity?) on it so I think that is what it could be.

Can anyone confirm that this is a shock sensor and maybe a brand.
I'm going to hit my windows to see if I get a warning.

LOL its ok though because whoever installed forgot to untagle the antenna. They will have to get close to the car to detonate it and they will die too.
Well I set the alarm with me sitting in the car and then hit the steering wheel a few times really had. Then I hit the window and nothing happened. I figured that the vibration would have atleast would make the larm chirp.
I'm going to continue this post in the alarm section. Maybe one of the pros in there could shed some light.
