Today on my way home I was taking the exit and dropped from 5th to 3rd,id say at about 65 mph so around 4k rpm. I was locked out of 5th and every attempt it would grind, untill my rpms dropped completely to 1k.
Now the transmission was fully rebuilt with all new oem parts,I mean bearings, seals, hubs, sliders, shift forks, mainshaft, countershaft,EVERYTHING. It has NEVER grinded at all at any rpm,so its odd it grinded when at a somewhat low rpm. Now everytime I drive around and I shoot for 3rd anywhere at 4200 or higher it grinds bad and does not want to go in.
The clutch has about 4k on it,and it also has a new slave cylinder so I am pretty sure it is not clutch related, seeing how no other gears are at mercy.
Any ideas on what has happened and what I am looking at replacing,AGAIN??

Each of the synchronized gears has to be able to move freely when the shaft is fully assembled. If any of the gears are binding, the synchros, sleeves and teeth will wear prematurely.
Also, are there components relevant to the synchronizer system that were not replaced the first time around?

Hmmm. Strange indeed.
You may want to check would be the clearancing on the shift change assembly (I know everything was replaced, but you never know).
Maybe there is an issue with the shift linkage itself trying to pull backward (1st, 3rd, 5th).
Maybe there may even be an issue with the ***** that glide along the shift forks (the ones that go in from outside the casing with the springs).
I doubtany of these will probably have any effect, but it never hurts to look I guess. About the only other thing I could suggest is to make sure the synchronizer rings aren't damaged and were installed on the synchronizer. And make sure there is no binding on any of that.
Good luck, man. Seems to be troublesome given you've replaced everything that would normally cause a grinding issue.

Ya I assume the only way is to crack into it and take a look. Im going to try some syncro-mesh to see if maybe its just some sludge built up,after onle 2k miles
